Story : Eva, a wealthy middle-aged woman, marries a man she barely knows and moves into his family estate, a dark, run-down mansion on the Massachusetts coast. She learns James was recently engaged to a young woman, but he dismisses it as an unimportant mistake. Investigating noises in the cellar, she finds the corpse of a young woman, half-buried in the coal pile.
