Story : Nina is excited about going on a vacation to Catalina Island with Tommy. Meanwhile, Shakespere is depressed; he is getting too many rejection notices for his writing efforts. Tommy comes over to tell Nina that Mrs. Clark, who was to chaperone Nina, cannot go to Catalina. Mama arranges it so that everyone in the boarding house except her and Crisino go to Catalina. She will stay home and get a real vacation.
