Story : From the Royal Albert Hall, Katie Derham introduces the Gustav Mahler Jurgendorchester, which brings together some of Europe's best young musicians and is one of the most musically exciting and polished youth orchestras in the world. Conducted by Philippe Jordan, the orchestra performs Wagner's Rienzi Overture and Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony and is joined by the flamboyant French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet for Ravel's jazz-influenced Piano Concerto in G Major.
